THE ZARAKH
The Zarakh are several groups of desert-dwelling cats known by the forest clowders as "Warlochs", but are referred to as Vurakh by the native speakers. They speak an ancient language called Vurzha, one of the sister-tongues to M-Speak, and being derived from the ancient language Roarism. The forest cats call this language "Zartongue".
The Zarakh primarily inhabit the open dunes and sun-scorched rocky wastelands where little vegetation grows and shade is scarce. Although some inhabit the coastline as well.
Most Zarakh possess elongated limbs, dense pawpads resistant to heat, and pale or muted coat colors that reduce solar absorption. These cats have short fur due to the scorching heat but it's dense enough to allow warmth during the coldest nights. Their tails are lanky and often burned as a last resort to get their paws off of the sand or scorching-hot rock. Many of these cats are angular or bony in structure, whether it's from malnoutrition or genetics. It's typical of this phenotype to have red-ringed eyes and fleshy paws due to the workaholic culture in these groups. Wounds are also prominent and typical.
